Dolly Alderton's "Everything I Know About Love"
A brief explanation on why I loved it
A few months ago, I finally decided to pick up Dolly Alderton’s Everything I Know About Love” after hearing positive feedback from people online. I can officially say, I loved it.
I laughed, I cried, but most importantly, I understood. Alderton speaks about her twenties in a way that is relatable and very reassuring for people who feel like they are still trying to figure everything out in their life (me included). It was a heartfelt collection of stories, carefully crafted with love and sarcasm, and it left me wanting to hear more from the author. Reading this particular memoir felt like a warm hug, like reading a letter from a dear friend. It actually sent me into a bit of a memoir spiral (within the last month or so, I’ve become the proud owner of six memoirs, as well as The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath), so if you’re looking to start somewhere, I would 100% recommend starting with Dolly Alderton. Charming, witty, captivating, and heart-warming, I already am planning on rereading this book. Yes, I loved it that much.
